Need a hand with your grocery list? You're in the right place.
Mochi Mart is a personal grocery list app. We've designed it to keep your data as quiet as possible — no accounts, no ads, no tracking. This page explains exactly what happens to your data so there are no surprises.
Almost everything. The following is stored locally on your iPhone using standard iOS storage (AsyncStorage) and never leaves your device unless you use one of the AI features described below:
Uninstalling the app removes all of this from your device.
One small exception: Mochi Mart stores a small amount of anonymous data (a random ID and basic list metadata, no personal info) in a private iCloud namespace, used to keep your experience consistent across reinstalls. When you delete the app, iOS will display a system warning that "data stored in iCloud will not be deleted" — that warning refers to this data. We don't require you to sign in or create an account to use the app.
Some features use a third-party AI model to help with categorization, recipes, label analysis, and conversational suggestions. When you use these features, a small payload is sent to our forwarding server, which forwards it to a third-party AI provider and returns the result. The data sent depends on which feature is active:
We do not send your name, email, phone number, location, contacts, photos from your photo library, or any device or advertising identifier — Mochi Mart never asks for any of these.
iOS will prompt you the first time the scanner runs. You can revoke camera access at any time in Settings → Mochi.
We do not use third-party analytics, crash reporters, or advertising SDKs.
Mochi Mart isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app and you'd like the local data removed, just delete the app from their device.
Because nothing is tied to an account, you control everything from the device:
If we update how data is handled, we'll update this page and bump the effective date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
